Greetings from WBS!
What an amazing start of the 2024-2025 school year we have had! Our students have transitioned back to school seamlessly and are adjusting to the routines and schedules of getting back into school mode. Thank you parents, for preparing your children for their return to school. It has been great welcoming everyone back.
Thanks to everyone who attended our Back to School Night on Thursday September 5th. I hope that you found the evening to be helpful and informative. Our teachers did an amazing job of communicating everything you need to know about their classroom routines and expectations. I was blown away with the amount of positive feedback I received regarding our PBIS initiatives this year and we look forward to partnering with you as we navigate expected school behaviors this school year. At the core of all we do, is our Bears Pledge.
The principles of the Bears Pledge are what unites us in a common mission focused on safety, responsibility and respect. We will continue to instruct our students on behavioral expectations across the building through the language of what we should “look like” and “sound like” in each of the following settings: classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, bathroom, bus, car rider line, assemblies, and recess. Our hope is that when home and school use similar language and the expectations are consistent across all school settings, are students will feel a sense of security in knowing the expectations are clear for all.
I will be sharing out our progress through the lens of PBIS at our home and school meetings to keep our dialog ongoing. Please join me at our first Home and School meeting of the year on Tuesday September 17th in the WBS Library at 7:00 PM.
Thanks for ALL you do to support our school community,
Mrs. Hadfield, Principal
